Living the Vineyard

Personal Work

At Buen Camino, we personally cultivate our 18 hectares of vineyards spread across the entire region of Tórtoles de Esgueva. These include hillsides with poor soils of varying exposures, clay-sandy slopes, and a stony plateau at 950 meters altitude. We strive to capture the expression of different soils by limiting yields and maintaining a strong commitment to organic practices.

Philosophy

We recover and preserve old vineyards, true treasures of any wine-growing terroir, while guiding our younger vineyards towards maximum altitude and natural regulation. That’s why we focus on the fresh and stony plateau of Tórtoles de Esgueva—a harsh and challenging terroir to work, yet one with immense potential for balance, complexity, and the typicity we seek in our wines.

Organic Viticulture

We are focused on organic viticulture, manual processes, and limited-production signature wines. In the winery, we employ the necessary technical methods to meticulously control the entire winemaking process. Our commitment to honoring the origin and practicing minimal intervention results in expressive aromatic profiles in each of our brands.

Extreme Climate

Ribera del Duero is known for its extreme climate and high altitude. Within this region, Tórtoles de Esgueva stands out as a subzone with its own distinct character, where these conditions become even more intense—a typicity that is fully expressed in the grapes and wines.

"We are a family wholly dedicated to sustainable viticulture."

The 950-meter altitude, persistent winds, stony plateau, varied hillside exposures, heterogeneous soils, and distinct limestone minerality define the unique identity of our village and the Valle del Esgueva.
